Alexandra Grant has exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide, and her work is included in museum collections including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Los Angeles, the Blanton Museum of Art, Austin, Texas, and in private collections. She engages in dialogue with writers, poets, philosophers, and linguists including Sophocles, Constantinos Kavafis, Pablo Neruda, Vania Vargas, Wislawa Szymborska, Michael Joyce, Hélène Cixous, and Keanu Reeves, earning her the title of “radical collaborator.”

Grant uses literature and reading as a catalyst for her work and the intellectual foundation of her entire artistic practice. Through a combination of conceptual and intuitive operations, she transforms selected texts into compositions of color, shape, and form, giving them new life. She calls herself a “writer who writes with materials.” Grant is also a co-founder of X Artists' Books and runs the grantLOVE project, which supports artists and arts education.
