Franklin Evans & Brian Alfred at Garrison Art Center

The opening reception will feature live performances by jazz saxophonist and composer, Lena Hovanesian written for Franklin Evans' installation and a dance presentation choreographed by Andrea Miller with Marylyn Dintenfass. Festive food and vibrant cocktails will add to the conviviality of this special evening.

COLOR COMPOSITIONS exhibits the work of five pairs of interdisciplinary artists, presenting their collaborative interpretations of the word "color" in their individual creative practices.

Collaborators include visual artist Franklin Evans with musician and composer Lena Hovanesian; Joyce Kozloff, painter and activist with Carolyn Yarnell, composer; painter Stanley Casselman and slam poet Ben Keating; visual artist and animator Brian Alfred with composer Michael Lovett; visual artist Marylyn Dintenfass and choreographer and artistic director Andrea Miller.
