We look forward to presenting ten new paintings by Ryan McGinness at the 2020 edition of Taipei Dangdai, running 16 through 19 January in Taiwan.
Ambitiously composed and relentlessly innovative, McGinness's "Taipei Dangdai" paintings seek to explore and evoke the culture and history of Taiwan.
Expanding upon an earlier project commissioned by Art in Embassies for the American Institute of Taiwan in Taipei, McGinness developed 100 graphic drawings based on different elements of Taiwanese culture and history, from which he created this series of paintings. A "key" of the individual drawings will be exhibited alongside the paintings, to further translate and decode the elements which make up the works.
We look forward to presenting these paintings by McGinness alongside works by Tomory Dodge, Inka Essenhigh, Beverly Fishman, Markus Linnenbrink, Michael Reafsnyder, and Patrick Wilson at Taipei Dangdai this January, 2020.
